A few good questions.

What is Agent Pets?

A free collection of animated companions for your AI workflow. Install natively in Codex, or keep an independent companion window alongside Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, or any other agent.

How do I install a companion?

Choose your agent, then a pet. Codex has a native installer and ZIP download. For other agents, open a companion window. It needs no plugin and does not read your agent's tasks or conversations.

What’s in a download?

Every package includes pet.json and a transparent spritesheet.webp. Everything needed for your companion’s animations stays in one small folder.

Do these previews match Codex?

Yes. Previews use Codex’s frame timing and default size. They preserve a fixed frame scale so your pet won’t grow or shrink to fill its card. Open a companion to try its animations and adjust the preview size.

Does the companion window follow my agent’s activity?

Only after you connect the optional local notification bridge. By default, it is independent play. The bridge can visualize working, attention, completion, and error signals without reading your conversations. Switching agents alone does not establish a connection.
